About a year or maybe a year and a half into owning a Hoselink Evolve hose reel, the thing started squealing quite loudly when pulling hose out. It had now gotten to a point where I had to do something about it! There’s nothing about this on the Hoselink troubleshooting instructions so I hope you find this useful.
It’s not the retraction mechanism that’s making the god awful squeaky noise, it’s the hose guide and rail. As the guide makes it’s way across the rail, it’s plastic on plastic that makes the noise.
So to fix it, remove the front fascia, it should just pop off. Then dab a small amount of oil all along the rail as indicated in the picture below.

After that pop the fascia back on and unreel and retract the hose a few times to distribute the oil all along the rail.
Thats it! No more squealing.
